Surf Trip to Mexico with Friends

It's been a while since I've gone on an actual surf trip with boards. A few weeks ago I went down to Mainland Mexico with a few friends to surf. Of course I brought my camera along. Wouldn't you know we arrived the exact same time as one of the best swells of the spring. I managed to shoot a few photos and still get some really fun waves for myself. Here are a few of my friend Ryan Bracker mixed in with a couple lineup shots of the waves. There will no doubt be a few images added to AnthonyGhigliaPrints.com from this trip. Stay tuned!

Ghiglia Gets Two New Covers this Month

My work is featured on the cover of About Town La Jolla and Solana Beach this month. The La Jolla issue image was shot in the shore break of a beach by my house in La Jolla. The Solana Beach image was shot during the wildfires a few years ago which blew the craziest orange smoke through the San Diego County coastline for 5 days.

Anthony Ghiglia Photography Featured in the Latest Swell.com Catalog

The fine people at Swell.com have been kind enough to feature my work in the latest catalog this month. Surfers featured in this season's catalog include Mike Losness, Nate Yeomans, Tiago Pires, Justin Quirk and Ryan Bracker. All of the images featured were either shot in San Diego or a couple different spots down in Mexico. Here is a link to the catalog online now.

SolSpot is not only an aggregate website featuring current content about the action sports industry, but is also one of the most accurate surf and snow forecasting websites around today. Nate Yeomans and Anthony Ghiglia Land Transworld Surf Cover

I just got the word that I landed the latest cover of Transworld Surf Magazine. Nate Yeomans and I have been spending a bit of time working down at Blacks beach this winter and, to our delight, it has all paid off. The day this image was shot Nate and I were connecting quite a bit in the water but this image really stood out to me. Photo Editor at TWS, Aaron Checkwood, did an amazing job on the color as well as keeping it all under wraps until the mag went to print. He sent Nate and I an email a few days ago and totally surprised us. Here is Nate's response to the email.

"Psyching dude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Its 8.30 am over here in OZ an Im going to crack open a tooheys new with the G boys and celebrate. Send over a scan when you get a chance. Dude Im freaking amping. Yeah mate yeah. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! n8"
